After Hours Sport
A variety of sports are available at Unley Primary School for children to participate in school based competitions. After hours sport is managed and coached by parents using policy set by our Out of Hours School Sports Committee and Governing Council. Current sports on offer are - basketball, cricket, football, netball, soccer, softball and chess. These sports are offered when the demand exists and we have the parent support required. Competitive after school sport is for students in Year 2 and above. Opportunities for younger students to participate in skills development programs after school are offered.
The physical education curriculum of the school promotes and develops a range of sports and physical skills. We also have specialist programs for swimming, gymnastics, dance and aquatics delivered across a range of year levels throughout the year.

SAPSASA
The SAPSASA program is offered to all students aged 10 – 13 (generally years 4 – 6). Unley Primary School enters teams in Swimming (Term1), Cross Country (Term 2) and Athletics (Term 3). Students participate in school trials to be selected for the Unley Team, and then compete against schools in the South East Adelaide District.
Students may then be selected to represent the District Team at State Day competitions in all of these events. Unley Primary School students are also given information to participate in selection trials for District Teams in a wide variety of sports, including Cricket, Football, Netball, Hockey, Soccer, Tennis and Volleyball.
These teams are selected and managed by staff from schools within our district, and the selected students compete in a week-long carnival as part of the District Team.
Our school has been very successful across all areas of sport both in students being chosen to represent our district in team sports as well as individual successes with swimming, cross country and athletics. Unley Primary won the District Flag in 2016 for highest performing school at the South East Adelaide District Athletics Day.
Parents have contributed greatly to our success by managing training sessions before given events.
