COME & PLAY Orientation Visits to Unley Primary School

A transition programme is offered to children during Term 3 and Term 4 in the the year prior to them starting at Unley Primary School. The aim is to ensure that children and their parents have a positive transition to school and are familiar with our staff, other children and our learning envirnments. The transition programme also provides teachers with the opportunity to talk with pre-school staff and families about children’s specific needs and ongoing development. Families and students will receive a letter prior to transition with relevant times and dates.

High School transition process

The process for year 7 students transitioning to high school generally begins in Term 2 of their final year at Unley Primary School. Students receive packages of information from their zoned school and are able to lodge applications to attend other public or private high schools. There are also opportunities to apply for special-entry programs and scholarships to different public high schools in the Adelaide area.  More information about this process is available from the relevant high schools, or by speaking with the year 7 teachers at Unley Primary School.
