Enrolment - Choosing A School

choosingaschool imageMany families choose their child’s school before they start preschool. It is important to make a final decision during your child’s preschool year and then let the preschool staff know so that a program for transition to that school can be organised.

Children usually attend up to 4 terms of preschool before they start school. Parents are advised to contact their school of choice and check the school’s enrolment policy to ensure there is no gap between completing preschool and starting school.

Admission Dates Children may be enrolled on the first day of term following their fifth birthday.  The school provides a one-week “grace” period but children cannot be at school until they are five. Children need not begin school until they are six years of age?

Parents should determine children’s starting date from school then contact their preschool to arrange four terms of preschool prior to this day. Children may be enrolled after four and a half years of age under the Gifts and Talents policy.

Please see your preschool director or school principal for further information about this policy.
