After Hours Sport

Unley Primary offers a number of after school and weekend sporting opportunities to students. Parents/Caregivers give generously of their time to coach, manage, score, supervise students and attend matches. Students are encouraged to participate in a way that supports the Unley Primary School Values of Respect, Responsibility and Doing Our Best.
The sports offered are dependent on parent/caregiver support. Without sufficient parent support, teams are unable to be entered into competitions. Sports currently offered are Basketball, Cricket, Football, Netball, Soccer, Softball and Chess Club. Further information about After Hours sport is available from the Front Office.

The SAPSASA program is offered to students aged 10 – 13 (generally years 4 – 7). Unley Primary School enters teams in Swimming, Cross Country and Athletics. Students participate in school trials to select the team, and then compete locally at a District competition day. Students may then be selected to compete as part of the District and State teams from these events. Unley Primary School students are also given information to participate in selection trials for District teams in a wide variety of sports, including Cricket, Football, Netball, Hockey, Soccer, Tennis and Volleyball. These teams are selected and managed by staff from schools within our district, and the selected students compete in a week-long carnival as part of the District team. Further information about the SAPSASA program is available from the years 4 – 7 class teachers.
